Spring is nearly here and it is time for the 19th Annual Camden Daffodil Festival in Camden Arkansas. We will leave Lander HD promptly at 9:30 for a 3.5 hour ride to Camden.
Be sure to check your tires for proper inflation and top off your gas tank before arriving at Landers. Our route down will be just over 100 miles with two stops at De Gray and White Oak State Parks where there are rest rooms available but no Gas until we arrive in Camden. You can get your Riders Challenge books signed at the State Parks. We plan to arrive in Camden around 1:00 in the afternoon, just in time to sample some of the local fare for lunch. Along with many vendor booths where you can grab some lunch, you can purchase a "Grazing Rights" wrist band for $5, allowing you to partake in the tidbits from the entrants in the Steak Cook-off.
A parking lot has been reserved for us right on Washington Street, so no worries regarding where to leave the bikes.
There are a number of interesting events available once we get to the festival. See their website at <http://www.camdenfestival.com/default.html> to help plan your day. The Event coordinators have planned quite a festival this year including many tours of the homes, gardens and even a log cabin. There is a bike show <http://www.camdenfestival.com/Daffodil%20Motorcycle%20Ride%20In%20Show.html>, check out their website. There will be live music starting at 2:00 PM at the Steak Cook off. The steaks ($20 per person, includes the works) won't be served until 5:00 PM.
Because of the diversity of the events available and everyone's tastes running in different directions, we will end the official ride when we arrive in Camden. When you tire, you can simply follow Washington street east out of town which becomes Hwy 7 and follow that all the way back to Hot Springs.
